The concept of "Unity in the Community" was born out of the vision of Shining Light Youth Charity (SLYC), a Toronto-based organization dedicated to empowering underserved communities. Recognizing the lack of visibility for melanated non-profits, SLYC created this docuseries to celebrate these organizations, amplify their voices, and raise awareness about the challenges they tackle daily.
